To help you make the most of your stay, here is a 7-day itinerary with one hike per day, allowing you to discover the full beauty of this region.

Day1 : White Lake

To start the week on a high note, set out to discover Lac Blanc, one of the most iconic lakes in the Chamonix Valley. From the Flégère cable car, the trail winds through alpine meadows before reaching this glacial lake with breathtaking views of Mont Blanc. It’s a must-do hike for its stunning panoramas and peaceful setting.

Day 2: Mer de Glace

Take the famous Montenvers train to reach the Mer de Glace, the largest glacier in France. From the Montenvers station, you can descend to the ice caves, then explore the surrounding trails offering spectacular views of the glacier and nearby peaks. It’s an ideal day to combine hiking with geological discovery.

Day 3: The Grand Balcon Sud

The Grand Balcon Sud is a scenic high-altitude hike offering spectacular views of the entire Mont Blanc range. From the Brévent cable car, take the Planpraz gondola, then follow the trail leading to La Flégère.
This route is ideal for those who want to enjoy breathtaking panoramas without too much uphill effort. The views of the glaciers and the Aiguilles of Chamonix are stunning לאורך the entire trail.
To finish, take the Flégère cable car down to Les Praz (about 25 minutes from Chamonix town center).

Day 4: Lac Cornu and the Black Lakes

This hike takes you into a more wild and secluded setting. From the Planpraz cable car, follow the trail towards Lac Cornu and the Black Lakes, glacial lakes nestled at over 2,400 meters in altitude.
The ascent is steep in places, but the lunar landscapes and sense of isolation are well worth the effort. It’s a perfect route for high-mountain enthusiasts seeking tranquility.

Day 5: Tour of Mont Lachat

Mont Lachat is a modest summit but offers impressive views over the Chamonix Valley and Mont Blanc. From the village of Le Tour (about 20 minutes by car or via bus line 02 from Chamonix), take the cable car up to Col de Balme, then follow the loop trail around Mont Lachat.
It’s a beautiful hike through alpine meadows, perfect for a more relaxed day.

Day 6: Bérard Valley

The Bérard Valley is a wild and preserved valley located near the village of Le Buet (about 20 minutes by car from Chamonix). Follow the trail along the river through forests up to the Bérard Waterfall, then continue to the Pierre à Bérard Refuge.
This hike is ideal for those who enjoy varied natural landscapes, with beautiful views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 7: Aiguillette des Houches

To wrap up the week, set out to conquer the Aiguillette des Houches, a summit offering one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the Mont Blanc range. From the village of Les Houches, the trail gradually climbs through forests and alpine meadows up to the summit.
From there, the views over the Chamonix Valley, Mont Blanc, and the Fiz range are breathtaking. A perfect way to end your stay in Chamonix.
